Responsibilities include:

 

·        Development and implementation of AEWC Marketing Plan

·        Writing and production of materials including technical proposals, reports and papers; displays; videos; web site; annual reports; press releases; and other promotional materials

·        Planning and implementation of special events

·        Service as International Standards Organization (ISO) internal auditor; membership on ISO Quality Council

·        Special projects: Fundraising Plan for AEWC Capital Construction; liaison with Maine Bioproducts Initiative; liaison with Maine Science and Technology Foundation; development of AEWC Project for Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship; membership on AEWC Safety Committee;

·         Eastern Maine Incubator Without Walls Project, coordination of all aspects of this microbusiness development project including administration, recruitment, public relations, business education (NxLevel Training), group development and facilitation, individual business counseling and project evaluation (October 1999 through April 2001)

·         Fox Cities Local Indicators for Excellence Project, technical writing for report setting and analyzing community benchmarks for the Fox Cities region of Wisconsin (January through April 2001)

·         Weiss, Baldacci & Fletcher, technical writing and research for WBF’s work as economic development consultants for the Town of Orono; principal author of Town of Orono: Economic Development Action Plan; Concept Plan for Orono Economic Development Corporation; Application for Municipal Tax Increment Financing by EnvisionNet; Application for Maine Quality Centers and Governor’s Training Initiative, Sensor Research and Development Corporation; successful grant application to International City Managers Association for Orono’s participation in a Brownfields Peer Exchange.

·         Rural Health Centers of Maine, preparation of an assessment of medical need of low income residents of the Penquis area for RHCM’s federal grant proposal to the federal Bureau of Health (March through September 1999)

·         Augusta Board of Trade, design, administration and analysis of a questionnaire to assess preferences for future direction of the Board Of Trade,1999.

·         Maine Rural Development Council, technical writing and editing for MRDC’s Piscataquis County community development project, 1998; participation in Roundtable Discussion, Women in Rural Economic Development.

·         Ms. Foundation, Collaborative for Economic Development: researcher for  the Foundation’s Welfare to Work Learning Cluster internet listserv.

·         Access to Credit Media Project: preparation of  brochures, tool kits, newsletters for ACMP’s public television documentary TO OUR CREDIT; pre-broadcast local outreach campaign, 1998.

·         USAID Lessons Without Borders: design and implementation of a Mentoring Center for USAID’s Maine International Women’s Business Conference, including workbook, workshop and one on one consultations, 1998.

·         Incubator Without Walls, Washington-Hancock Community Agency:  individual business counseling assisting entrepreneurs with resourcing, management, marketing,  financial planning, and regulatory compliance; design and delivery of workshop Adding Employees: Getting the Help that your Business Needs; preparation of public relations materials for incubator businesses, 1998.

 

Program Manager, Women’s Business Development Corporation, 1995-1997

 

·         Organized and implemented business education programs including the Women’s Mentoring Program, one-on-one business clinics, business planning assistance, and workshops including Business Plan Development, Financing Your Business, Marketing on a Shoestring

·         Organized and facilitated business support groups in Bangor, Ellsworth, and Dover-Foxcroft. These groups provide ongoing sources of information, support and financing for women business owners, particularly rural, low income women.

·         Assisted business owners in accessing financing through peer lending and micro-lending programs. Worked with borrowers to complete business plans and financials; performed due diligence on loan applications; did site visits and follow-up technical assistance with borrowers.

·         Public relations included: networking and partnering with all relevant economic development agencies in program area; press releases and broadcast media interviews; presentations before numerous civic groups as well as statewide conferences including the Blaine House Conference on Small Business.
